During this period of social distancing in The Netherlands it can be a challenge to find a quiet and sparsely populated area to stretch your legs and get a breath of fresh air. Nearby my own neighborhood a huge amount of urban development is taking place on the Cruquiuseiland, which unfortunately seems to have come to a standstill and many have lost their jobs. What the future holds is unsure, but for now this area in East Amsterdam is a safe place to be when it comes to social distancing.
