Almere Poort 2013

Documentary series depicting the development of Dutch Newtown Almere Poort. For ten months, I visited the township regularly, photographing residents in their undeveloped environment. Today, the scenes in my photographs are no longer visible, as the township has been completely developed.

As the township grew, I later concentrated on architecture and interior photography, documenting the development of self-build housing in the Homeruskwartier – managed and planned by Dutch urbanist Jacqueline Tellinga. Known for her book ‘Klein Wonen/Small Living ‘, Tellinga and I worked together to create a series of images published in her bestselling book.
